ISLAMABAD: A young man was killed in the Tarnol area of the capital on Saturday. Officials believe that he was probably killed over an old enmity involving the murder of a Bannu resident a few years ago. Police said that 29-year-old Maqsood Ali, a resident of Bannu, had been living in the Rati Kasi area of Tarnol. He had allegedly murdered Malik Naeem Khan in Bannu a few years ago. On Saturday morning, some unidentified people barged into his home and shot him. The attack proved fatal and Ali died of his wounds. His attackers, however, managed to flee uncontested. Ali’s body was shifted to the hospital for a post-mortem and other medico-legal formalities. Police speculated that he was killed by the heirs of Naeem as revenge. However, police said they were investigating all aspects of the crime.
