Misconduct: Passenger held for hitting air-hostess

A British citizen of Pakistani origin was arrested in Islamabad for assaulting a PIA air-hostess.

A British citizen of Pakistani origin was arrested in Islamabad for assaulting a PIA air-hostess, reported Express 24/7.

The passenger, Sajid Saleem, going to Islamabad from Karachi aboard PK-308 flight was repeatedly asked by the air-hostess to put out his cigarette.

On this, the accused got angry and reportedly slapped the air-hostess and warned her of dire consequences.

However, the accused was arrested as soon as the plane landed at the Islamabad airport.

Sajid misbehaved with the police and claimed they didn’t have the right to detain him.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against the accused on charges of assault.

Its BS !!! There are too many of these peasants in UK, and we in Uk have been very tolerant, however the mood is changing towards them.

I'll let you make your pinko comments to pander to the misinformed view that all of the fraudsters are entitled to free money and benefits. Oh so and so is really disabled; Hence some free money for a cooked up disability by a crooked desi GP who is only too happy to oblige for a sum. So and so is a single mother- I guess let's give her some khayrat since she is divorced on paper. No matter that she still lives with her husband and kids and they are scamming the system. Give me a break. Yes a lot of them twist the law. I'll just leave you with a little tid bit. Not just comments from many British politicians who are sick of foreigners abusing the social system, but I want you to access Wikileaks which mention internal government concern about a higher than normal unemployment rate and concerns about integration among UK Muslims. Don't tell me you don't know crime figures, poor education markers, unemployment rates, women abuse rates, or living in council flats. Not just first generation Muslims but 2nd generation Muslims. Don't forget the laws to stop Muslims bringing over their cousins in marriage until they are older than 21 being debated. Many of us have travelled to the UK or have relatives there.

What is silly is that some people in Pakistan automatically believe the nonsense they are fed by overseas family about how well they live when there are many challenges there. The reality is very different for many of them.

Is that your social indicator based on experience and not on DWP stats? You're generalising are you not? State Welfare benefits covers a wide array of circumstances for different individuals. You can be employed and still be legitimately entitled to certain benefits. There are Pakistanis and other minorities who are genuinely out of work and trying their level best in finding employment, just like there is a minority that abuses the welfare system. BTW, East London depending on which part, covers a vast area and has a diverse population of Pakistanis, Afghans, Bangladeshis, Tamils, Eastern Europeans and the general indigenous white population. Percentage-wise, how many British born Pakistanis are relying on welfare benefits in East London as compared to the entire British born Pakistani community living in the whole of the UK? What about the comparison between other minorities in the same areas?

A large number of them live on state social assistance which is khayrat since they don’t have jobs. Since they have no jobs, they live on emplyment assistance which is paid out of tax dollars. Do you have any verifiable statistics to show the ratio of unemployment amongst the Muslim immigrants, especially the Pakistani community? Have you compared the unemployment statistics of second and third generation British born Pakistanis against 'Pakistani born British Pakistanis' or Asylum seekers? I happened to work with Employment Services for a number of years and would be interested to hear your 'facts'. As for state social assistance, this is paid out of various taxes including Income Tax and National Insurance contributions in pounds sterling, not tax dollars. There are a number of Government initiatives that is making it harder for people to claim benefits, such as you have to prove with evidence that you are actively seeking unemployment. If you fail to satisfy the criteria guidelines then your benefits will be stopped. Claiming unemployment benefit amongst the British born Pakistanis is considered a social 'stigma', not that there are people who don't deservedly claim it. There are other social benefits that one receives regardless if you are unemployed or employed provided you have children. These are Child Benefit, Working Tax credit and Child Tax Credits. The amount you get is based on your income. All families with at least one child and a household income of up to £41,300 (2010 - 2011) may get an award of tax credits. The Pakistani involved in this incident may well have been 'Pakistani born Pakistani', married to a 'British born Pakistani' and now has his British Passport.

Yes anyone can behave like a moron- be he or she Western, Pakistani or an overseas Pakistani. I only made the comment about overseas Pakistanis to contradict the confusion that some in Pakistan have about how expatriates live in the UK and Europe. Yes a small number are doing well but the reality for most Muslim immigrants in Europe, Pakistanis included is hardly as glamorous as they like to portray when they visit home. Most of us who have travelled abroad know the sad reality of most migrants in Europe. No amount of social assistance which is like state khayrat for these people, makes up for the dysfunctional life that many of them lead where they are marginalized in society. Regardless of how many expatriates work in labour type jobs or the large number who don't work at all but live on state khayrat / social assistance, there are real problems with the expatriate population. Being at the bottom of society in Europe and then boasting to poor relatives back home does not endear them to anyone- be it in Europe or in Pakistan.

The guy's probably living on welfare / the dole in the UK anyway so it's better for him to be a begger there. These types of things go on in American and European planes all the times by Westerners too. Often times the guy or gal is drunk and they abuse the airline staff. They get charged but no one takes away their passport. The problem is that if they were really abusive, they get put on the no fly list. Watch the American movie " Due Date" with Robert Downey Jr when he gets put on the no fly list and he has to drive acrss America to see his wife's delivery.

If he tried that in the USA I suspect the other passengers would have given him a good thumping - hitting women is considered a cowardly act the States. Further - while he was spending time in jail the USA would put him on a "no fly" list which would insure that he would not be tempted to hit anyone else while flying in the USA.
