A man was killed in a clash over teasing some women near Mouza Rangpur on Sunday. According to police officials Ashiq Hussain was killed over teasing Imtiaz Ahmed’s daughter at a wedding.
Ahmed initially warned Ashiq to leave his daughter alone and turned him out of the wedding.
Ashiq later brought his friends Rashid, Saeed Anwar and Ghulam Sarwar to the wedding and beat up Imtiaz with clubs.
The men quarreled with wedding guests at Rizwan Ahmed’s wedding and over 11 people were severely injured in the clash.
The men beat Imtiaz severely and he was pronounced dead at the hospital several hours after the incident took place.
Among the injured from the wedding party, Shakeel, Basharat and Akhtar are said to be in critical condition. Rukanpur police have registered a case against the three men and shifted Imtiaz’s body to Sheikh Zayed Hospital for an autopsy. Further investigations are in progress.
