KARACHI: The 13th Sindh Games have been postponed for two weeks and will now take place from June 14 as Sindh Sports Minister Dr Mohammad Ali Shah did not receive the approved Rs10 million from province’s finance ministry despite the chief minister’s orders to release the funds for Sindh’s biggest sporting event.

“The funds are still stuck with the finance department and their procedure is taking time,” Organising Secretary Raziq Hussain Rabbani told The Express Tribune. “Our preparations are affected, participants’ kits are to be purchased and tracksuits are not ready.”

The Games were also postponed as per the provincial table tennis, badminton, boxing, hockey and football associations’ requests to delay the games because of the hot weather in Karachi.
