To celebrate the 70th year of Pakistan’s independence, the inaugural International Pakistan Prestige Awards (IPPA) were held in London, England this year. IPPA has been launched to create a legacy of entertainment and to recognise the Pakistani showbiz industry internationally.

45 Pakistani showbiz celebrities comprising film, TV, music, fashion and sports attended the awards ceremony, which was the biggest Pakistani awards event ever to take place outside Pakistan.

In the star-studded  event, Pakistani star who recently worked alongside Sridevi in Mom, was also present. It's true that event happened quite hush hush, but we do appreciate taking the industry abroad. It surely was a stellar effort. And seems like Adnan agrees.

The Sammi star took to Instagram to respond to all the flak the awards have been receiving, and wrote: "A sincere request to all my dearest country men who have taken upon themselves to religiously bash the recent IPPA Awards," he wrote.

"I have been reading all sorts of things people are saying & I don't disagree with all of that. There is a thing called merits & de-merits but there also is something called nationalism! More than half of the fraternity endorsed these awards; the ONLY award show that has taken place in London!" he added.

The Maat actor then wrote, "Was it perfect? No! Did everything go as planned? No! Were a lot of awards distributed? Yes! Did it feel good to enjoy seeing so many celebrities enjoying this moment with their families who reside in UK? Yes!"

"Come on people, we need to give everyone a break. Don't compare any award show with other. Our country, our industry has seen progress along the way; IPPA just managed to pull of its first show in foreign land; also in a city which has never held any Pakistani award show!" he said.

"Give the management at least the credit for bringing this award show and the buzz in foreign media!"

"Do critique, discuss the short comings but we all should also support the positives; we have to go together for the betterment of this fraternity, a humble request!" he further added.
