BBC announces new ‘Harry Potter’ documentary
'The History of Magic' will go behind-the-scenes at the British Library on October 20

The BBC has announced it will air a new documentary to coincide with the British Library's upcoming Harry Potter exhibit, which has been planned in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
The BBC 2 Harry Potter: A History of Magic documentary will go behind-the-scenes at the world's largest library, providing a closer look at some of the treasures on display from JK Rowling's wizarding world. These include rare manuscripts, drawings and notes from the author's personal archives alongside some of the special objects that have inspired her imagination over the years, reported Cosmopolitan.

Viewers will also get a chance to hear from Rowling as she talks through the items she has donated to the exhibition. And there will be readings from a handful of super fans, who according to the BBC's press release, will "playfully recreate some of the best loved spells, potions and magical moments from the series, exploring the origins of the world of Hogwarts, from basilisks through to broomsticks." Doesn’t that sound just magical?
There's no word yet on when Harry Potter: A History of Magic will be released, but it's unlikely fans will have to wait too long. The British Library exhibition is due to open on October 20 and will run until February 28, 2018. And there's good news for Londoners on the ticket front: some weekday slots are still available, but be quick!
