ISLAMABAD: The Senate Sub-Committee on Planning, Development and Reforms was informed on Thursday that Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) projects will be presented to the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) for approval.

The committee met under the chairmanship of Senator Karim Ahmad Khawaja and discussed the progress so far made on KCR and a water supply project for Karachi K-4.

Senators Muhammad Mohisn Khan Leghari and Saeedul Hassan Mandokhail attended the meeting. Planning Secretary Shoaib Siddique told the meeting that the project would be executed as soon as approval is given by the ECNEC.

He said that it was a provincial project and the Chinese government will provide full financing for it, adding that the federal government is the guarantee.
