LAHORE:

An FIR was lodged with the Civil Lines police station on Friday against six Jang Group workers for allegedly beating up a Pakistan Television (PTV) camera man.

Muhammad Yousaf stated in the FIR that he was stopped by six unidentified men, he believed to be employees of the Jang Group, from making footage of the traffic at Davis Road in front of their office.

He said the men started beating him when he refused to give in to their threats and warnings.

He said the men snatched his camera and destroyed the recording showing a traffic jam caused by encroachments on the road.

The Civil Lines police station clerk said FIR contained Sections 186 (interfering in official business), 379 (for snatching the cassette) and 506 (for threats of violence).
