Hilal-e-Istiqlal flag hoisted at Jinnah Hall

Flag was awarded to the people of Sialkot for the courage they demonstrated during 1965 war

SIALKOT: Provincial Minister for Local Government and Community Development Khawaja Muhammad Manshaullah Butt along with Station Commander Sialkot Brig Kamran Hayyat and elected representatives on Wednesday hoisted Hilal-e-Istiqlal flag atop Jinnah Hall building.

Hilal-e-Istiqlal flag was awarded to the people of Sialkot for the courage they demonstrated during 1965 war. The ceremony was held to as part of the Defence Day celebrations. The day was celebrated with national spirit and enthusiasm in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of the district.

The day-long programmes started with special prayers for the unity, prosperity and solidarity of the country as well as early liberation of Indian held Kashmir in all mosques of the district. Special Quran Khawani was also held at various places for the martyrs who laid their lives for the defence of their motherland. Hilal-e-Istiqlal flag hoisting ceremony was held under the auspices of Tehsil Municipal Administration Sialkot.
