KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has declared powers of five chief ministers as illegal and, in effect to this verdict, officers of grade 18 to 21 hired under their tenure are likely to be retrenched from their positions.

A double bench of the SHC nullified decisions taken by Syed Abdullah Shah, Liaquat Jatoi, Ali Mohammad Maher, Arbab Ghulam Rahim and the current chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah during their  respective tenures.

The petition was filed by 50 officers of the Sindh secretariat group.
