CM wants foolproof security

Foolproof security arrangements should be made to protect life and property of the common man, said CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a video-link meeting in which the law and order situation in the province, the visit of the cricket World XI to Lahore and security arrangements for NA 120 by-elections were discussed in detail.

The meeting also discussed the firing incident in Islampura and the CCPO Lahore presented the initial report on the incident. He said all three people accused of firing into the air have been arrested and  ehicle laden with weapons has been seized. He added legal action was also initiated against the accused.

Addressing the meeting, CM Shehbaz said foolproof security arrangements should be made to protect life and property of the common man and all resources should be utilised to maintain law and order. He said rule of the law should be ensured in the province at any cost and security should be provided to all candidates of the NA-120 by-polls. He said exemplary measures should be taken to maintain law and order during the polls and security should be provided to election offices of all candidates.
