The CM, who is in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, phoned provincial ministers Jam Khan Shoro and Syed Nasir Shah and asked them to visit areas of the city where water has accumulated and get them cleared.

Local Government Minister Shoro told the CM that he, along with Information Minister Nasir, were visiting various areas of the city and have cleared KDA Chowrangi and Mohsin Bhopali Underpass in District Central. They claimed to also have visited Sharae Faisal, Tariq Road and University Road where, according to them, the rainwater was automatically disposed of via the stormwater drains constructed alongside the roads.
The CM also spoke to Health Minister Dr Sikandar Mandhro and urged him to declare an emergency in all the government hospitals, dispensaries and other facilities to help the citizens. “I am also worried about the sacrificial cattle brought to the city,” he said and asked the health minister to issue directives to the veterinary directorate to make necessary arrangements for sacrificial animals’ vaccination.
Power suspension accompanies rain
Speaking to Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon on the telephone, the CM was briefed about the plight of the city during the rain. He asked Memon to mobilise the Provincial Disaster Management Authority and other resources in order to help people in this situation.
He also telephoned the complaint cell established at CM House and asked them about the nature of complaints they have been receiving.
