Kulsoom’s Nomination: LHC refuses to hear petition papers
A case file was sent to registrar office for constitution of a new bench
LAHORE:
Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan of Lahore High Court has refused to hear a writ petition filed by a PPP candidate for NA-120 against the nomination of PML-N’s Kulsoom Nawaz. A three-member bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan, was hearing the petition. However, a case file was sent to the registrar office for constitution of a new bench. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) contester Faisal Mir had filed the petition, alleging Kulsoom Nawaz is a shareholder in several companies but showed in the nomination papers that she was under the guardianship of Nawaz Sharif. He contended she did not pay the agriculture tax, did not show her Iqama, hid savings from her salary and did not mention domestic items of her house in Murree. He contended that a treason case had also been registered against Kulsoom Nawaz in Sindh. He prayed that the court should set aside the order of acceptance of nomination papers by the returning officer.
