Writ petition filed in LHC against Sharif

Petitioner submits Sharif lashing out against SC judges is contempt of court

LAHORE: Another writ petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court for initiating contempt proceedings against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for lashing out at the judges of Supreme Court.

Petitioner Muhammad Mehmood said the former premier had criticised the judges of the Supreme Court and termed the Panamagate decision against him as an injustice.

High court judges’ orders can be challenged: SC

Mehmood has stated that the former prime minister had already levelled a conspiracy allegation on the superior court. He submitted that the former prime minister committed contempt of court through his statements.

He has prayed that the court initiate contempt proceedings against him.
