PESHAWAR: Two blasts which occurred within the jurisdiction of Pishtakhara police station caused widespread panic in the area.

In one of the blasts that occurred a week ago, a child was killed and six others were injured, while no casualty was reported in the second blast that occurred on Saturday in which an under-construction police post was targeted.

According to police, the blasts created panic because of their mysterious nature.

“Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) started constructing four police posts two years ago and it is really strange that all those posts were destroyed in similar blasts. Three of these posts were located on Ring Road in Pishtakhara area while one was located in Banamari area,” he said.

According to the official, despite the fact that budget had been allocated for the construction of these police stations, none of them could be completed and were destroyed in the same manner.

The official said that no other police post was targeted, creating mystery as to why only the police posts to be constructed under Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) were attacked?

Investigations are under way to find out the cause of the attacks.
