QUETTA: Junior doctors in Quetta have announced that they will close the out-patient departments (OPDs) on Thursday to protest against the government for not fulfilling their demands related to salary increases and the non-recovery of kidnapped doctors. The Young Doctors Association staged a protest demonstration on Wednesday at the Bolan Medical Complex. The protesting doctors chanted slogans, demanding the government to fulfill their demands about increasing their pay. “Doctors have been protesting peacefully for the past 10 days but the government is not paying any attention to our demands,” said Dr Samad Panezai, while addressing the protesters. He said if the government continued ignoring their demands, the doctors will extend their strike across the province by not attending to patients at all major government hospitals.
