PHF trims down hockey probables

The Pakistan Hockey Federation’s (PHF) selection committee has trimmed down the probables for the national team that will take part in the Azlan Shah Cup next month.


According to a media release issued by the PHF yesterday, the selectors – after observing the players’ performances in the first phase of the training camp that concluded on April 10 in Islamabad – reduced the number of probables to 22 out of the 32 announced earlier for the camp.

The players, who have been retained, will take part in the second phase of the training camp which is scheduled to begin from April 20 at the Naseer Bunda Stadium.

The PHF, in the meantime announced that the 15-man squad will be named following the two-day trial that will start from April 27.

The team will leave for Malaysia on May 1 while the tournament will be played in Ipoh from May 5 to 15.

Imran Shah, Mazhar Abbas, Mohammad Imran, Sohail Abbas, Mohammad Kashif Javed, Mohammad Rizwan, Waseem Ahmad, Mohammad Tousiq, Fareed Ahmed, Mohammad Rashid, Shafqat Rasool, Waqas Sharif, Abdul Haseem Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Zubair, Mohammad Umar Bhutta, Syed Kashif Shah, Rehan Butt, Shakeel Abbasi, Waqas Akbar, Akhtar Ali,  Mohammad Imran Junior.
