Taji Gang: Inmate loses ear in jailhouse brawl

RAWALPINDI: A massive brawl broke out in Adiala Jail on Friday evening between under-trail prisoners as a result of which many inmates were injured.

The injured inmates were moved to Jail Hospital for medical treatment, whereas the injured were identified as Nauman Mushtaq and Muhammad Umair Tawakli.

An inmate known as Nikko, a hard core criminal and reportedly active member of a gang headed by Taji Khokhar, was involved in cutting the ears of Muhammad Umair with a sharp weapon during the fight.

DIG Prisons Shahid Saleem Baig visited the jail after the incident and suspended two officials of Adiala Jail besides holding an inquiry into the incident. Saddar Berooni police also registered a case against three prisoners.
