ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has expressed his serious resentment over the appointment of Sardar Yaqoob as PML-N’s acting president.

According to INP, the former interior minister raised objections to the party policy and said that the PML-N leadership did not consult anyone before nominating Yaqoob to lead the party, and informed the media even before the party leaders knew it.

Never said would drive Nawaz’s car to Lahore: Chaudhry Nisar

“We should have been taken into confidence,” Nisar said, adding that if the decision was to be taken in Lahore, there was no need to call a meeting at all.

“Is the central executive committee only to ratify the name?” he said and reiterated that Nawaz Sharif, the deposed PM, should not be influenced by flatterers.

Senior party leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khurram Dastgir Khan also endorsed Nisar’s stance.
