Minor succumbs to open manhole

LAHORE: A three-year-old child died after falling in a manhole in South Cantonment on Thursday morning.



The victim, identified as Azan, was going somewhere with his mother when he accidently fell in a gutter. There was darkness around the road due to load shedding and the gutter opening had no lid on it. Locals called rescue teams after learning of the incident.

The team started a rescue operation and recovered the body after four hours. Family and neighbours were aggrieved by the death of the minor.
