PM Abbasi in Karachi to chair high-level security huddle, meets MQM leaders

The prime minister visited Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum to pay respects

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived in Karachi on Saturday to chair a high-level security meeting and also met with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders.

On his arrival, the premier was received by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair, following which he visited Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum to pay his respects.

In a meeting with the governor, the PM was briefed on initiatives being taken for development to gain the confidence of the business community. PM Abbasi assured the federal government will extend all support for development in the province.

Afterwards, the prime minister met with a delegation of MQM-P.

The delegation, comprising its chief Dr Farooq Sattar, Faisal Subzwari, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Kunwar Naveed called on the premier at the Governor's House.

He will also meet the business community at the Governor House.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi announced a state funeral for Dr Pfau, who, despite originally being from Germany, made eliminating leprosy from Pakistan her life’s mission.
