Anti-encroachment drive: 21.5 kanals reclaimed on 31st day

The City District Government Lahore continues to clear encroached areas.

The revenue department of the City District Government Lahore claimed on Monday to have recovered 21-kanal-10-marla land worth Rs15 million in Ganj Kalan on the 31st day of its anti-encroachment drive.


It said encroachments along 71 km of major roads were removed.

Town officials demolished 71 illegally built ramps, 13 shades, and 34 staircases and shifted eight truckloads of equipment seized from encroachments to the CDGL warehouses.

Wagha Town administration cleared encroachments along 16 km on Wapda Road, GT Road, the road along Sukh Nehar, the Ring Road and the Rajbah Road.

Shalimar Town administration cleared encroachments along 15 km of Shalimar Link Road, GT Road and in Chah Miran area.

Allama Iqbal Town administration cleared encroachments in PIA Housing Society, Wapda Town, Akbar Chowk, Raiwind Road and Multan Road.

Data Gunj Bakhsh Town administration cleared encroachments along two km of Sheesh Mehal Road and demolished 31 ramps, three shades and four staircases. Aziz Bhatti Town administration cleared encroachments along the Mughalpura Canal up to Dharampura, Joray Pull.

Ravi Town administration cleared encroachments along two km of GT Road, Shahdra. Samanabad Town removed encroachments along one km of Poonch Road in Islamia Park and demolished 40 ramps and 30 staircases.
