ISLAMABAD: Police claimed to have arrested five women and a man on charges of committing thefts and robberies in the houses where these people worked as servants.

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police arrested five housemaids and their male accomplice and recovered gold ornaments and cash worth Rs400,000 from their possession, a police spokesman said.

He said a special team headed by DSP Muhammad Ashraf Shah arrested five women and one of their accomplices. The gang used to work in various houses as maids and servants and commit robberies along with their accomplices.

The arrested people have been identified as Sumera Bibi, Naseem Asima, Farzana, Shehla, Nazia and Qasim.
