QUETTA: At least two men were killed and as many injured on Tuesday after a remote-controlled bomb went off in Awaran Town of Awaran district in Balochistan.
Security officials said suspected militants planted an improvised explosive device (IED) near a shop in Awaran bazaar, which was remotely detonated.
Shops and buildings were affected by the impact of the blast, which caused panic in the market.
The dead have been identified as Inayat Ullah and Balaach, both local residents.
Security officials shifted the injured to the district hospital, while the bodies were handed over to the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, police registered a case against the unidentified perpetrators and an investigation into the case is under way.
While no group has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack, a search operation is under way for the culprits.
