PESHAWAR: Women lawmakers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday submitted a resolution in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly for the disqualification of Imran Khan in light of the allegations made by Ayesha Gulalai.

The lawmakers who submitted the resolution in the K-P assembly secretariat included Sobia Shahid, Amna Sardar and Ruqia Hina. They have demanded that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan be punished as per Shariah.

The resolution read, “Imran Khan behaved immorally with member National Assembly Ayesha Gulalai and the brave people of our tribal areas which damaged the respect of the people of this province.”

The lawmakers also want Imran to be disqualified under Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution on the basis of Gulalai’s allegations.

Former PTI leader Ayesha Gulalai had alleged on Tuesday that she was leaving the PTI and claimed that women affiliated with the party faced constant harassment within the party ranks.

Her allegations forced the MNA’s former party to serve her a show-cause notice on Wednesday. The PTI has suspended her basic party membership and demanded that she resign from the National Assembly.
