2 killed as bandits ambush police team  

Police personnel were on their way to conduct a search operation when gang members opened indiscriminate fire on them

DERA GHAZI KHAN: At least two people, including a police officer, were shot dead while four were injured when bandits opened fire on them in Shah Wali police precincts on Wednesday.

Officials told The Express Tribune that police personnel were on their way to kacha area to conduct a search operation in a boat and when they reached near Kacha Jamal and Ketani areas, members of notorious Attaullah Pat gang opened indiscriminate fire on them. As a result, ASI Khalid Gohar and an unidentified boat man were shot dead, while four policemen suffered injuries.

Officials said teams of Shah Wali police station and Umer Kot police station were conducting a joint search operation against Attaullah Pat gang when the tragic incident occurred.
