Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan urged his party workers on Thursday to refrain from crticising sister of former PTI leader Ayesha Gulalai.

“My request to all PTI supporters is to immediately refrain from targeting Ayesha Gulalai's sister,” Imran has tweeted.

Gulalai, a female politician who became Member of National Assembly on PTI’s ticket for a reserved seat, had claimed on Tuesday that women affiliated with the party faced constant harassment from within the party ranks.

'Lewd text messages' to Ayesha Gulalai: Check Imran's Blackberry data, demands PML-N

Moments after her allegations, the PTI supporters took to Twitter and condemned Gulalai and her sister Maria Toorpakai Wazir who is a professional Pakistani squash player, for wearing what they called ‘indecent and immoral’ dress during her tournaments.

However, the PTI chief only asked his workers to refrain from targeting Maria and did not stop them from crticising Gulalai for leaving the party and leveling harassment allegation on him.

Instead, Imran accused Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for the recent accusations against him.

“After seeing their efforts to get me disqualified & their smear campaigns ag me all fail, PMLN is moving to do what it does best,” he said on his Twitter account.

A day earlier, a reference was also filed with the election commission seeking Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Imran disqualification as a lawmaker citing the harassment allegations.

It has been requested in the reference that Khan be disqualified under Section 99(1)(f) of the ROPA and the by-election for NA-56 be held.

Let the courts decide whether yet another example of hypocritical behavior by Imran Khan is should be ignored. If found guilty of female harassment, he needs to be removed from his seat and charged.
