Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh call it quits?
In an upcoming film based on the 1983 World Cup, Ranveer Singh has been contracted to play the sports hero, reports Spotboye.
Film-maker Kabir Khan has had his share of meetings with Ranveer to play Kapil Dev in the upcoming flick and if all goes well, we will be soon witnessing the Bajirao Mastani actor donning cricket gear on the big screen!
When contacted, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson stated, “It’s too early to confirm anything with regards to Ranveer Singh playing Kapil Dev. An announcement will be made by the production house as and when everything is finalised."
The film in question is reported to be a Phantom Films production. The producer Madhu Mantena is very close to the cricketer's family and he will apparently take the official rights from the players involved in the unforgettable India vs West Indies 1983 final at Lord’s.
I'm not as crazy as Lady Gaga: Ranveer Singh
Kabir Khan’s last directorial Tubelight sank miserably at the box-office without a trace. A big controversy ensued when the film’s distributors led by Narendra Hirawat landed up in Salman Khan's home, owing to the losses incurred by the film
Since then, Kabir Khan has been keeping a low profile but the upcoming film on the cricket sensation might serve as an opportunity for the film-maker to redeem himself.
