Professional allowance increased to Rs9,000

This will help them support their families, says Professor Tayyab

LAHORE: All nurses working at the Lahore General Hospital will be getting Rs9,000 in professional allowance which will be paid to them with their salaries of July and August.

Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal Professor Ghiyasun Nabi Tayyab said nurses were the backbone of the medical field and the provincial government had given them due importance. He added the professional allowance would encourage them to improve their efficiency. He called upon the nurses to work with more dedication for the betterment of patients.

Professor Tayyab said this allowance was fixed at Rs4,000 and increased to Rs9,000 from July 1. “This will help them support their families”.  He said nursing departments had been upgraded and qualified staff was available at public hospitals.

Lahore General Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Ghulam Sabir congratulated the nurses on getting their professional allowance and assured further steps would be taken for their welfare.
