Butt, the right man to lead: Wasim Akram

Express May 20, 2010

LAHORE: Former skipper Wasim Akram said that in-form opener Salman Butt is the right man to lead Pakistan in test matches.

Waseem Akram said that in the absence of senior players like Mohammad Yousuf, Younis Khan and Shoaib Malik, Salman is the right choice for the job. He said that Afridi's place in the test squad is not fixed, so there is no question of him being made the skipper.

The 43-year-old Akram also said that there is a lot of mistrust between the players and the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Munir Ahmad Bhatti | 14 years ago | Reply Salman Butt is a great player. According to the aggregate he maintained he is the most succesful opener for pakistan behind Saeed Anwar. In these days PCB as well as Pakistan Cricket Team are facing very bad days due to non availability of senior players like M Yousaf, Younis Khan etc. For the sake of God, if you want betterment for PCT in future, Salman Butt should be the captain of Pakistan Cricket Team (PCT) for all three forms of cricket i.e. T20, ODI and Test formats.
