How and when did you become interested in footwear?
Jooti Shooti was the most random concept, which came to me in the spur of the moment. I have always had a more-than-normal obsession with truck art and came across various truck art inspired products, but never footwear. So, on a random shopping spree for khussay, I had an epiphany to combine my love for truck art with khussay. Ever since, it’s all been about sharing two personal obsessions with others, who feel the same way.
What are your favourite shoes from your collection?
My personal favourite is all the peep-toe khussay. It combines traditional and contemporary aesthetics. They really are a masterpiece and I am so proud of this innovation.

Is there any shoe you are emotionally attached to and why?
I would say I’m emotionally attached to all of my Jooti Shooti pieces as each piece reflects a story of how it came into being. I’ve always had a keen interest in handicrafts, thanks to those long hours spent with my grandmother. Watching her craft beautiful, handmade pieces into art, with whatever she could get her hands on. My mother too, has the ability to discover the most exquisite art pieces, in the strangest places. They have significantly influenced my creative side for my entire life.
Is there anything on your radar that you want to make in the future?
I wish for Jooti Shooti to bloom into something bigger and better in the future. Not just in terms of sales and profit, but more importantly in terms of creativity and customer loyalty. That’s my main focus for the future.
