ISLAMABAD: Expressing concern over targeting of police officials by terrorists, Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri has assured the police that Balochistan government stands by them in all circumstances.

“The police are facing many challenges in peculiar conditions of Balochistan including targeted killings, terrorism and other crimes against the people and the state.

“The police are also being targeted by the terrorists. However, the Government of Balochistan is on your side in all circumstances. And the police will inflict crushing defeats on enemies of people and state,” CM Zehri said on Friday while addressing the passing-out parade of the Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF).

He praised the role of police in maintenance of law and order and said they had ensured protection of life and property of every citizen in the province.

The chief minister said through provision of proper training, better equipment, weapons and other facilities to the police, the government had already achieved the desired results. “I am very happy to see that the police force is now properly trained to face any eventuality,” he added.

He said he had desired that the number of police commandoes should be raised to 1,000 and now the force was already 700-man strong. “All the 700 police commandoes have now become part of the elite police force to challenge any act of terrorism and subversion,” he told the gathering.

Zehri welcomed the police personnel for selecting police force to serve their own community and society.
