KARACHI: The Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) workers, who were shot by unidentified assailants, were laid to rest on Tuesday amid refreshed thoughts of the start of a target killing spree in the city.
PSP workers Abdul Majeed alias Nadeem Mullah and Rashid Khan alias Laal were killed by gunmen riding a motorcycle on Monday evening. The victims were sitting at a street corner near Qatar Hospital in Orangi Town when they were targeted.
Majeed was pronounced dead as soon as he was moved to a nearby hospital while Khan succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Both of them, like most PSP workers, were previously associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Kamal says PSP's politics not based on language
The funeral prayer of Majeed, who was a member of PSP’s District West wing, was held at Jama Masjid Banaras after Zuhr in Orangi Town and he was buried in a graveyard in the neighbourhood. Khan’s funeral prayer was offered at Jama Masjidun Nabvi in Kali Pahari neighborhood of Orangi Town and was laid to rest in Paposh Nagar graveyard.
PSP Chairperson Mustafa Kamal, President Anis Kaimkhani, Vice-chairperson Waseem Aftab and other leaders of PSP attended both the funerals and offered condolences to the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, Kamal, while talking to the media, accused MQM founder Altaf Hussain of orchestrating the killings and stated, “Altaf was a coward murderer and snake who ate his own babies.”
