KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued on Tuesday notices to the police and Rangers authorities on a petition filed against the alleged detention of a builder by the law enforcement agencies (LEA).

The two-judge bench also directed the LEAs to submit their comments in this regard by July 25.

Advocate Shaukat Hayat said law enforcers, dressed in plainclothes, had taken away Fahad Mujtaba Khan, a builder by profession, from Bahadurabad locality on June 10 and his whereabouts were still unknown to the family.

He said that an FIR regarding Khan's disappearance was registered with the Ferozabad police station, but the police had yet to find any lead.

Hayat said that through the media, the petitioner had come to know that Khan was allegedly taken into custody by LEAs in connection with encroachment of lands near Safari Park and he was being kept at an undisclosed place.

Therefore, Hayat pleaded the court to direct the Rangers director-general, Sindh IG and SHO Ferozabad police to recover and produce the detainee in the court of law.
