Securing Shrines: Surveillance cameras ordered

CCPO orders installation of surveillance cameras at all shrines in Lahore.

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Aslam Tareen, has ordered installation of surveillance cameras at all shrines in Lahore, and ensuring proper lighting. The CCPO has further directed that Darbar Committees be set up to ensure proper security arrangements for shrines and imam barghs. The committees will include members of the local community and police officers and will ensure proper screening and checking of devotees at appropriate places. The CCPO said that the government is paying special attention to equipping the police with the latest technology and to impart modern training in order to ensure protection of life and property of the people. He also directed that parking stands should be established away from the shrines.
