FAISALABAD: In the 71st Punjab games held in Lahore, female athletes from Faisalabad scored top positions. The women won the long jump, javelin throw, and discus throwing categories. Saira Mumtaz, who was leading the Faisalabad division secured first position in the 100 metres race and won a gold medal. Saima Shehzadi won first position in the 200 metres race and Isra won second position in the 1,500 metres race and received a silver medal, Amna Siraj got second position in the 400 meters race. In discus throw event Samreen Akhtar secured the first position and Amna Siraj scored the second position in the javelin throw. The athletes were received with garlands and a large crowd gathered at the train station to greet them.
