Looks like nepotism is not the only vice Bollywood is guilty of - there are reports of much worse behavior defaming the industry. After reports of Kylie Jenner using her maid’s hands to test lipstick, Bollywood reporters took suit and unveiled the mistreatment of domestic help by the celebs in rather disgusting ways.

Bollywood seems to set a whole new standard in this domain too, as the reports of mistreatment of domestic help by Book My Bai are shocking to say the least. The service agency that provides household help claimed that they have decided to stop dealing with Bollywood celebs after atrocious mistreatment of the domestic help they provided. In fact ‘mistreatment’ is an understatement. These celebs are guilty of basic human rights violation that is unheard of.

As compiled from the Cosmopolitan, here are a few screenshots of Book My Bai’s complaints against Bollywood celebs. Due to the company’s policies, the identity of these celebs has been kept anonymous.

The agency Happy Maids are not too pleased with the treatment of their employees either. The CEO commented:

"They would come home late at night and wake the cook up with a kick and tell them to cook [right then]. We tried going to the police, but to no avail. One actor falsely accused a maid of theft. When I took her to the police, she contacted some minister and the case was dismissed. One Marathi [female] actor also had problems with the caste of the staff. She said she didn't want people from the Ambedkar caste as, in her opinion, they are dirty. She threatened me with murder and also called a minister."

The word mistreatment doesn’t suffice to dub the way in which house help survives in these celebrity homes. Their basic human rights are violated and more often than not, the workers are too scared to even file complaints. The behavior these employees are subjected to, shows semblance to stone ages in this post-modern humanist world where protection of human rights is perhaps the most cherished value.

To say the actors from Bollywood are powerful individuals who can get away with such demeaning acts would be stating the obvious. Hence the owners of the agencies like Book My Bai and Happy Maids have removed Bollywood celebs from their client lists.  The co-founder commented

"We provide over 2,000 maids in a month. We've provided help to around 35 celebrities, out of which around 26 such cases have come to me. [The maid] has placed her trust in us and my responsibility is to get her a good job at a good household. And when I know my experience with Bollywood celebrities has been bad, I have no reason to get her a job there. I also have examples where the celebrity has taken very good care of the maids. But in the majority of the cases, some sort of abuse or exploitation has happened. We have a few pending requests from celebrities that we're turning down now.

Atif Aslam croons for Saba Qamar's Bollywood debut and we love it!

"Alone, I can't raise my voice. If four-five agencies come together and ask for my opinion, then I will speak out. But if I do it on my own, I'll create problems for myself."

Looks like neither the domestic workers nor the agency owners stand any ground against the might of these celebs and blocking them from their client lists is the maximum these agencies can do the protect the right of their employees.
