
This was stated by ITU founding Vice Chancellor Dr Umar Saif, who was addressing faculty members on Tuesday. He said the more than 100% increase in admission applications was an acknowledgment of the university’s world class faculty.
Dr Saif stated that under the contract signed on June 12, 2017, between ITU and Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP), the latter was assigned with constructing a state-of-the-art purpose built campus on 182 acres near Lahore airport at an estimated cost of Rs 5 billion and over a period of 12 to 18 months. As many as 14,964 applications were received for admission in ITU this year, while only 6,200 applicants applied last year.
