I don’t really care about the padding around me: Tiger Shroff on his leading ladies

Now that just smells sexist!

In an earlier interview, Tiger Shroff received slack for saying that he wants to marry a woman who "keeps the house clean and gives me home-cooked food."

The Flying Jatt star later claimed that he is all for women empowerment.

However, it seems like the actor just cannot catch a break. While that previous blunder could have been excused as a misquote, Tiger seems to have struck back.



In a recent interview with the Mumbai Mirror, the Munna Michael star was asked about his upcoming venture, which will be a sequel of Student of the Year. Tiger made a remark that was sure to infuriate women. And it hit all the wrong cords.

“When I work with someone who is my junior, I know exactly what the person is going through. I’ve never felt the need to work with established actors even though I have had the opportunity to work with the beautiful and fantastic Shraddha Kapoor (Baaghi) and Jacqueline Fernandez (A Flying Jatt).”

But then, he adds, “I don’t get involved with the casting at all. I don’t really care about the padding around me. It’s the script and my character that matter,” he asserts. And what we wonder if he just implied that all his leading ladies are simple aesthetics for the movie.

Prior to the shoot for Student of the Year 2, he has Sabbir Khan’s Munna Michael coming up which is Tiger's third film with the director after his 2014 debut Heropanti and Baaghi.

He adds that dance and action are “mere decorations” in the musical-drama. “The dance and action serve as forms of entertainment, but the film is also beautifully layers with emotional highs and complex relationships.”



He also admits to being relieved to have sister Krishna Shroff on the sets as an assistant director. “She is my biggest supporter and toughest critic. She is always blunt and brutally honest but I still ask her for suggestions. She was my go-to person when I was unsure about something. For me, she was the second director on set,” he says, fondly recounting how Krishna would insist that he take selfies with fans who gathered around his vanity van during breaks.

Better keep your dancing shoes on, Tiger. You might need them to sprint from all the backlash that's coming your way.
