Addressing the senate, the interior minister said that the judicial commission set up by the Supreme Court was investigating the matter while the government was also making all out efforts to resolve the issue.

Earlier, initiating debate on the presidential address, leader of the opposition Waseem Sajjad claimed that the speech was an effort to praise the performance of the government.
Earlier this month, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Javed Iqbal directed all four provincial chiefs of police to submit reports on the recovery of missing persons. The bench also directed that FIRs be registered against missing persons in custody involved in criminal activities otherwise the court will exercise its powers and register cases against officials for not complying with its orders.
