City Police Officer [CPO] Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi suspended Sub-Inspector Tariq Gondal, the additional station house officer [SHO] of the Saddar Bairooni police station, for pushing his subordinate ASI Azhar Gondal to accept an illegal gratification from Chaudhry Haris for altering an investigation report in Haris’ favour.

Haris, who had been arrested for allegedly forcibly occupying some land, had managed to obtain bail from the court based on the favourable police report.

Waqas Zahoor had approached CPO Abbassi, complaining that he had purchased two plots in the Snober City housing society on Adiala Road in 2014 from a man named Chaudhry Nisar.
