An Indian bride called off her wedding after she watched her drunken groom attempt to do the popular snake dance on Tuesday.

Priyanka Tripathi, 23, refused all attempts by the groom, his family and friends to convince her to reconsider her decision and married a different man a day later.

The snake dance is a popular dance routine in India, and is often performed at ceremonies and celebrations. It has a history of performance on Indian nuptials.

According to The Times of India, the pair had exchanged gifts and conducted other pre-wedding rituals before the groom took to the dance floor. The couple were from the same community and region and had known each other previously as well. However, Tripathi and her family were significantly unimpressed with the groom, Anubhav Mishra.

"The boy created quite a scene. I had to support my girl," the bride’s father reportedly said.
