BAHAWALPUR: Government has taken significant steps for providing relief to the poor, helpless and deserving people.

This was said by Zonal Jahez Committee Chairperson and MNA Parveen Masood Bhatti on Friday. She was addressing a ceremony in which 50 deserving women were given dowry funds worth Rs750,000.

On the occasion, Parveen Bhatti said that during 2017, several poor women were provided Rs15,000 each in connection with dowry funds through lucky draws.

She added the government was providing relief to the people at their doorsteps and several projects were initiated for the welfare of the women.

She maintained that for attaining dowry funds for deserving women, forms could be submitted to the Auqaf department without any cost and dowry funds would be distributed after the draw.
