LAHORE: Law Ministry officials on Wednesday completed inspection of the record of the murder case against former prime minister ZA Bhutto and obtained attested copies of relevant documents. Advocate Arif Chaudhry, senior consultant for the ministry, said they had obtained attested copies of 2,411 pages. A copy of the judicial inquiry report by Justice Shafiur Rehman into the murder of Nawab Ahmad Khan was also part of the record but it was not provided as the original was not available, he said. An audio tape, he added, was part of the record but under law it was not permissible to obtain its copy. Chaudhry said the record had been obtained to assist the Supreme Court in a presidential reference moved to re-visit the verdict delivered against Bhutto.
