Urdu publishers will now be able to earn revenue through their content via AdSense as Google has added Urdu to its supported languages, the company announced on Thursday.

“The interest for Urdu language content has been growing steadily over the last few years. Today, we’re excited to announce the addition of Urdu, a language spoken by millions in Pakistan, India and many other countries around the world, to the family of AdSense supported languages,” said a statement on the company’s website.

Google to stop scanning Gmail for creating targeted ads

AdSense provides an easy way for publishers to monetise and help advertisers looking to connect audience with relevant ads. Despite that news outlets publishing content in Urdu are among the most visited websites, they have not been able to monetise their viewership as AdSense did not understand Urdu.

However, this all is about to change as the inclusion of Urdu will now allow content writers and publishers to post ads on their websites that are more relevant to their audience.

To monetise their Urdu content websites, publishers need to sign up for a Google AdSense account, and add the AdSense code to start displaying relevant ads to their users. Publishers can also visit the AdSense program policies to make sure their website is compliant.
