Hazara administration plans in advance to keep traffic flowing

KAGHAN: Despite forecast of heavy rain across the Hazara division, a large number of tourists have reached Kaghan, Naran and Shogran to enjoy Eidul Fitar holidays in the scenic resort towns.

According to Manserha police, more than 200,000 vehicles have entered Kaghan and Shogran valley during the two days of Eid. The number rose to 350,000 and was still increasing on the third day of Eid, police officials said.

Haneef Muhammad, a tourist from Sahiwal, said this year traffic police have properly managed the flow. “We did not face any difficulty till reaching Naran whereas in the previous years it was very difficult to travel during Eid holidays,” he said.

A local journalist, Syed Noman Shah, who has visited Naran and Shogran said Mansehra police and administration were managing traffic in a better way as compared to the previous years.

The civil administration and the public representatives had already put in a traffic management plan well before the Eid rush to facilitate the people. The authorities had issued a timetable for the movement of heavy traffic on Karakoram Highway and Murree Road so as to avoid gridlocks.

District Police Officer Manshera Chaudhry Ahsan deployed 684 policemen around Karakoram Highway, Manserha, Kaghan, Naran and Balakot roads to control traffic flow.
