RAWALPINDI: A young boy was killed, allegedly by his friend, who had invited the victim over to his house on the Link Road near Girja village on Monday.

Police officials said that three friends had organised an Eid party at the Ilyas’ house on Girja Link Road. They also invited Zain Abrar to the party. During their revelry, one of the three friends suddenly opened fire with a pistol. One of the bullets struck Abrar in the head, killing him on the spot.

His body shifted to the DHQ Hospital for an autopsy. Naseerabad police stated that it was not clear whether the gun was deliberately fired or it set off accidentally. Cannt Circle DSP Raja Taifoor said that Abrar’s father had refused to take legal action against the killer.  He added that the victim’s family had told the police that Abrar was killed accidentally and that his friends did not take his life intentionally.
