Substandard henna being openly sold in markets
They are doing roaring business as people in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi thronged to different markets and malls to complete their shopping that usually continues till Chand Raat or the eve of the Eid.
In Pakistani culture, Eid is incomplete without bangles and henna for girls. “Every year, beauty parlours introduce new and unique designs of henna as every girl wants to have a new and different design on her hands,” a buyer Kanwal Khan said.
Mehndi highlights Eid festivity for women
A stall holder Ali Faizan said flowery designs and fine lines are popular on Eid while many young girls make their own designs. Use of glitter and shining powder as well as stars is a new addition to henna designs.
