Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus on Tuesday unveiled its latest flagship, OnePlus 5, at an event in New York City.

As with all OnePlus devices, the new flagship from the Chinese maker features the latest hardware that places it above other Android based smartphones, including Samsung’s Galaxy S8.

The device packs the latest Snapdragon chip-set mated with a massive 6GB or 8GB RAM depending on the different memory configuration. In addition to this, the OnePlus 5 also borrows from Apple with a new two camera setup for better pictures.

It houses a standard 16-megapixel shooter and a secondary 20-megapixel telephoto lens which enables it to take 'bokeh' images that have a shallow depth of field and blurred backgrounds. It also gives the new device a 2x telephoto zoom in addition to a digital zoom up to 8x.

OnePlus has also added a fast charge feature to the new device which it argues is the best currently available in the market. The 1080p display paired with 3300 mAh battery gives the new smartphone an 18-hour of usage.

The OnePlus 5 goes on sale starting June 27 and would cost $479 for the 64GB version and $539 for the higher 128GB version.
