Provincial budget 2017-18: K-P favours colleges over universities
According to official documents, so far textbooks of up to grade V have been revised. The documents mentioned that new books are easier to understand and structured in a manner that will help students conceptually instead of promoting rote learning.
The documents also stated that the education department also conducted a uniform and universal examination for grade V in all public and private schools. The purpose of the examinations was to improve the quality of education in the province since the assessments provided information about shortcomings which was helping planners to address service delivery in an effective manner.
Over 500 primary schools functional in K-P during past four years
Talking to The Express Tribune, All Primary School Teachers Association Peshawar district president Azizullah Khan appreciated the government’s effort to revise the textbooks. “Previously, the books were very difficult not only for students but also for teachers.”
K-P Elementary and Secondary Education Media Adviser Naji Ullah Khattak told The Express Tribune: “So far textbooks being taught up to grade V have been revised after taking the input of educational experts.”
“No major changes have been made in the textbooks, but the language has made easy and understandable for students,” he said.
